You’ve only got three choices in life…

“You’ve only got three choices in life…  Give up, give in, or give it all you’ve got.

Did you know that in one day we will probably make over 100 choices? Really. We choose to breathe, open our eyes, to get up… brush your teeth (please do lol), eat breakfast, go to work, smile. We may decide to turn left while driving, or look at the sky to see the weather. We may choose to work out, call a friend, listen to music (choosing a song is another choice), and the list could go on and on and on…

Our life is in our own hands.

So, why do we so often make up excuses for not following through on our goals? It’s just another choice. Sure, it may alter our future, but so do many of the other choices we may daily. We just don’t think of them as being big decisions, I mean, come on now… things like brushing your teeth or your hair can greatly affect the rest of your day 😉

And you know what, it’s okay if chasing after your goals doesn’t have the great turnout you expected.

this defines "success" perfectly!

It’s okay if your story includes some, “I tried, but it didn’t work out”‘s or, “I did all I could”‘s. And other similar messages because, the underlying message is I DID IT, I TRIED! So it didn’t have your exact outcome. What matters is that you didn’t ignore it or give up, you went for it despite all the potential outcomes!

Your initial decision is what matters. Your choice to “do it” screams messages of hope and belief in yourself. Don’t get me wrong, not having things turn out the way you hoped totally stinks! But don’t let that beat you down and keep you there. Remember that your effort to make it happen is the most important part.

Having a goal and trying to reach it will probably bring more happiness (even if in the long run) than having a goal, putting it on the back-burner, and later wondering “what if…?”

your goals & dreams are important!

Daily choices are important. You are important. Your choices are important because they are YOURS, no one else’s. So set a goal and choose to reach it! Don’t let the negativity and reasons “why not” deter you from that goal. Reach, reach, REACH for it anyway! Believe you can do it!

Remember, it’s your initial choice that matters. And that choice will make your story worth telling!

He has given us life. He has given us hope!

Easter = hope, life, transformation, change and victory!

1 Peter 1:3  “3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…”

It always seems impossible until it is done!

“Magic lives. It will always live. Why? It is simple – because deep inside, we never stop believing.” -Loretta Murphy-Birster

So why is it that we sometimes turn our heads when we see the “impossible” or laugh at something that cannot be explained? Is it because we are uncomfortable? Maybe it’s because we have lost our belief in magic. And when I say “magic” I don’t mean the kind you can find in Harry Potter, but the magic in daily life, miracles.

Truth is, this world is magic, we are magic. We just have to open our eyes to see it. We are all capable of things beyond our imagination!

“Magic exists, but we really do have to open our minds and become like children again, to be able to spot it.” ~Wayne Leon

(read his article found at: http://www.helium.com/items/2184627-why-we-grow-out-of-believing-in-magic )

If we alter our thinking, the simplest things in life can be related to “magic.”

Buy why bring up magic? Well, often times we don’t reach for our dreams. We find reasons, excuses, to stop in our tracks and settle for where we are instead of pressing forward.

We have all had goals or dreams that we have pushed to the back of our minds. It’s time we revisit those dreams! We have minds for a reason, to educate ourselves about life and then use what we have learned to reach those dreams.

“Start by doing what is necessary, then what’s possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” ~Francis of Assisi

So think about a dream you once had, whether big or small, it’s worth striving for. If you don’t you may be asking yourself “what if” for the rest of your life.

No matter how old you are, it’s NEVER too late to wish to meet one of your dreams! It’s just up to you!

"It always seems impossible until it is done!"

Be a dreamer and keep on believing!

Art is Everywhere!

Art: (n) the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

Art comes in many forms. It can be found in drawing, coloring, painting, the usual art mediums. But it can also be makeup artists, photographers, fashion designers, chefs, architects, hairdressers, authors, gardeners, IT professionals, singers, farmers, directors… I could go on and on. Basically, art is so much more than just “paint on canvas.”

We are surrounded by art. It’s everywhere!

Art is anything that allows us to express ourselves. It uses our senses, reality, hopes & dreams, frustrations, truths, weaknesses. A window into our unconscious. A way to voice ourselves when words just don’t do. An opportunity to let our emotions out whether it’s expressing happiness or fear. Sometimes art requires no thought, and is based on fun.

For me, art is freedom. It’s my escape; that secret place I can run to get away from the chaos of everyday life. Usually, I have no reason behind my art. Something random will spark the “artist” side of me and I’ll dive into a new project. It’s like my unconscious lets me know I need to escape and vent, but I’m completely unaware of this fact until I’m done. It’s then that the message behind my art speaks loudest.

I am passionate about art – about looking at it and making it. My ultimate favorite is painting, something about a blank canvas or wall with the freedom to use any mix of colors is so freeing.

Next I’d have to say is dying hair, any color, in any way… it’s just fun!

just highlighting my sisters hair blue (so fun!)

Then there’s drawing, making everyday things into “puzzles” that make sense to me.

And then baking. 🙂

I have a variety of art in my life and I love it! I lucked out too, my family is pretty artistic as well! Mom does it all, painting, sewing, photography, stamps… you name it, she’s good at it! Dad is a mechanic and good at carpentry… any trade really.  Then there’s my sisters, they are game design majors with minors in creative writing and graphic design. And my grandparents excelled in sewing and woodworking… gosh, guess I’m blessed!

I’ve been surrounded by art my entire life, it’s always been a part of my everyday living. I can’t imagine my life without it!

Art.  It requires no reason, no purpose. It’s something we can get away with; it helps get things off our chest, even if what is produced doesn’t make sense to anyone but ourselves.

Whether we’re making art within our jobs or during our down time, whether it’s abstract or straightforward, the art we produce is a piece of ourselves. So take a moment today and express yourself, for no reason other than because you can!
